I love fragrance but I find now that the formulas are designed not to last and this is due to others with a fragrance sensitivity . . . this is why I keep buying the classics but even Shalimar (in winter) doesn't cut the muster after awhile and that's saying something.
So, I was eager to explore Attar. It comes beautifully and securely packaged in a substantial box: it's not cheap but more like cardboard. The bottle is held inside by the packaging so it's not rattling around in the box.
On to the fragrance: Once you take off the plastic covering on the box, you are *immediately" hit with the scent of roses. Big time. I applied just a dot - you don't need more - on my wrist. There is an initial soap scent as others have mentioned but it dissipates. I would not apply this behind my ears, this "girl" is a LOT. For the inside of the elbows, cleavage, body pulse points, it's perfect and a great base to help a similar fragrance maintain both scent and silage.
I want to try more attars now. Caveat: if you don't like the scent of rose, this one is not for you - unless you are applying a compatible fragrance/body mist over it.
Beautifully packaged and gift worthy on that front.
I see many reviews that 5-star everything. I intend to be honest and this Attar is bold floral on its own. Unless you layer, she will announce herself before you enter a room, yet it's a "fresh" scent. Not choking unless you apply too much - don't. The product itself is a 5 star, but also a matter of taste: fragrance is extremely personal.
